:: Screen Shots Tutorial to setting up in email software.

Alternatively, you may do so at mail.yourdomain.com. The login details should be keyed as follow:

User Name: sales@yourdomain.com (please use your full email address)
Password: xxx (created for the individual email accounts )

This interface will retain your emails in the mail server and over time, your mails will take up the space allocated to you. As such, you should regularly clear your emails from the mail server by retrieving them directly to your PC using email software such as Eudora, Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger.

       14. Can I send out mass e-mails with my virtual mail server?
We have a zero stance policy on Spam, junk e-mail, and UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email). It is a direct violation of your user agreement and you will be removed from the servers for abuse. In saying this, if you have a targeted audience or if you have a registered e-mail list, you may send as many e-mails as you want. At the first complaint, you will be notified. If we receive numerous complaints in a short amount of time, your mail server may be deactivated and you will be contacted by someone in technical support for clarification.

       15. How do I block emails from specific email accounts from reaching my account?
If you are using Outlook Express:

       17. I can't access my mail using Outlook Express. It keeps prompting me for Username and Password.
Please check your Mail Account Properties in your Outlook Express to be the following:

Username: username%domain.com
Password: your password
Incoming Mail (POP) : pop.domain.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) : mail.yourdomain.com or your ISP's SMTP server name

       18. The emails my customer sent to us keep bouncing back. What happened?
The most probable cause could be you have set "Leave a copy of messages on server" setting on your email client program. When your email quota is exceeded, emails sent to you will be bounced. To rectify this, simply deactivate this setting on your email client program. You might want to use WebMail our Web-Based Email client to remove your emails. Please ensure that the messages in the Sent and Trash folders are deleted as they contribute to the overall disk space as well.

        19. Do you provide webmail?
To use web-based email, you can go to http://mail.yourdomain.com, login with your FULL email address and password.

        20. How do I view my users' mailbox size and usage?
  a) Login to Email Control Panel at pop.yourdomain.com. Login as postmaster with the your full domain name and assigned password (it should be the same password as your FTP password)

b) Go to Email Accounts

c) Look under "Used / Quota (MB)

        21. Do you have Anti-virus scan and Spam filter for your email server?
  Yes

        22. Is Webmail less prone to virus infections than using MS Outlook or Outlook Express?
It is known that MS email clients are more prone to viruses as most viruses are designed to attack and spread through design flaws in these programs. Use virus scanning software, especially if you use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express (which are prone to sending a virus to everyone in your address book when infected). But note that Microsoft products are not the only vulnerable ones - some versions of the virus may do similar with Eudora.

Though webmail is less prone to viruses, an infected email is an infected email - activate the bad content or attachment somehow and your computer will be infected. The attention to Outlook/Express and other software is only that it automatically does things with incoming mail.

Up to date desktop protection should be required for every Windows computer that is connected to the Internet.

        23. I received a message saying that I sent someone a virus. Is my computer infected with a virus?
Most modern computer viruses spread by emailing themselves out as an attachment to any email addresses they can find on an infected computer. Then they choose a random address from that list to forge as the From: address. They can look for these addresses in that infected computer's email address book, its web browser's cache, or any documents saved anywhere on that computer. Some less-than-perfect email virus scanners at some institutions believe the forged From: address, and will warn the supposed sender that they are infected with a virus. What they fail to tell you is that either you are infected with a virus or your email address was forged by a virus that someone else's computer sent. We recommend purchasing and installing anti-virus software and keeping it up to date on your computer.

        24. I received a message saying that I sent someone a virus. Is my computer infected with a virus?
Please follow the steps below to enable “My Server requires authentication” under your Email Account Properties for Outlook Express:

1. Launch Outlook Express
2. Click on “Tools” > “Accounts”
3. Under the Mail tab, double-click on the email account that is having the email delivery problem
4. Click "Servers" tab on the Account properties pop-up box
5. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check “My server requires authentication”
6. Click on "Settings" button, check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" under Logon Information. Click OK.
7. Click “Apply”, then “OK” button

        25. Why is it that whenever someone sends me an attachment, it keeps getting wiped out automatically? There would                be an error message indicating that the "OE filter potential virus".

This is a security feature set on your Outlook Express by default. Do the following to disable this:

1. On your Outlook Express, click on Tools > Options > Security
2. Select "Internet Zone" and UNCHECK "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"
3. Click Apply and then OK

        26. Why do I get "550 5.7.1 <sender’s email address> … we do not relay <recipient’s email address>" delivery notice                when I sent out email to someone? How do I resolve this problem?

This is the result of long period of inactivity on your email client. i.e. you are not allowed to send email through this mail server as you are not authenticated.

To resolve the issue, click on the Send/Receive button on your Outlook Express to authenticate to the mail server and send the email again.

Alternatively, you may wish to enable “My Server requires authentication” under your Email Account Properties. Please follow the steps below for Outlook Express:

a. Launch Outlook Express
b. Click on “Tools” > “Accounts”
c. Under the Mail tab, double-click on the email account that is having the email delivery problem
d. Click "Servers" tab on the Account properties pop-up box
e. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check “My server requires authentication”
